Everything you need to know about Text Messaging and Texting Options on your iPhone and iPad for iOS 15

Bookmark this post because I’m about to show you everything you need to know about text messaging on your iPad and iPhone.

Reveal more options available for your text messages.

  • Once you are in a text message, tap the funny looking – A – next to the camera icon as shown in the image below to reveal other apps that can work with your message, such as images and stickers.
  • Tap the app to see what options it gives you.
  • You can slide the app icons left or right to reveal more.
  • The camera icon opens the camera to take an image and attach the image to the current message.

Sliding a speech bubble to the left will reveal when your text was sent or received

Tap and hold the speech bubble and drag to the left.

Forward a message

  • Long press on an image or speech bubble and tap more (image 1).
  • If you long press on a web link you will see a quick preview of the website.
  • Tap the more label (image 1).
  • Then tap the forward facing arrow to forward the message (image 2).
  • You can also use the quick emoticons like the heart, up and down thumbs, ha ha, etc.

On the next screen you see, add the person you want to forward this message to

Send Text Messages From Your iPad

  1. Go to settings
  2. Scroll down until you see messages.
  3. Make sure iMessage option is green.
Turn on iMessage
